Pedagogical Achievements
In 2024, Dr. Rolling was awarded the International Textile and Apparel Associations Teaching Excellence Award. Prior to this, Georgia Southern University's Office of Career and Professional Development selected Dr. Rolling for the 2023-2023 Career Champion Award for championing career readiness for Georgia Southern students. Furthermore, Dr. Rolling was selected as the September 2023 Open Educational Resources (OER) Hero of the month by the University Libraries at Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, GA. This distinction came after Dr. Rolling completed the Open Educational Practices Certification.
In 2023, Dr. Rolling was awarded the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences Distinction in Teaching Award at Georgia Southern University. Dr. Rolling also received an $8,000 Student Technology Fee Grant for trend forecasting software Fashion Snoops and two $10,000 Cotton In The Curriculum Grants from Cotton Incorporated for 2023-20234.
In 2022, Dr. Virginia Rolling was also awarded Georgia Southern University's Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Fellowship Award and received an Open Education Resource Affordable Learning Grant (ALG) to create a digital textbook LibGuide.
At the 2019 ITAA Conference in Las Vegas, Dr. Rolling received the University of Fashion/Lawrence King Publishing Faculty Award.
Dr. Virginia Rolling has credentials from both Quality Matters (QM) and Association of College and University Educators (ACUE). Dr. Virginia Rolling is also a recipient of Auburn University's Distinguished Future Faculty Certification and Auburn University's Engaged Active Student Learning (EASL) Certification.
